Great comeback! Ristic reclaims Paralympic gold at Paris 2024!

Great comeback! Ristic reclaims Paralympic gold: A seasoned star named Dragan Ristic defended his R9 – mixed 50m rifle-prone SH2 gold title at the Chateauroux Shooting Centre on Wednesday (4 September). He did an amazing job of being precise and tough.

As the competition went on, Ristic started out in eighth place and slowly moved ahead with 10.5s and above, adding up to a total of 250.2, which was enough to win gold. Vladimir Tchintcharauli of Georgia (248.2) had to settle for second place, but he will be proud of how well he did because he was in the running for a medal from the start of the final. This was Tchintcharauli’s first medal at the Paralympics.

Great Britain’s Tim Jeffery (227.8) won third place and his first Paralympic prize. Tanguy de La Forest, who was a crowd favorite, came in fourth.

“This is a great honor for my country and me.” I kept my Tokyo title, and I’m happy about it. “This will keep me going for the Paralympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028,” the Serbian star said, citing the water polo team’s three gold medals at the 2024 Olympics in Paris as an example.

Earlier, Yang Chao, the Chinese pistol king, broke the Games record again to win his first Paralympic title in the P4 – mixed 50m pistol SH1 event at the Chateauroux Shooting Center. Chao, who had previously won the P3 – mixed 25m pistol SH1 competition, shot with great control to set a new Games record of 220.1, even though he missed the sixth shot in the final series. Chao had won silver in Rio 2016 and fifth place in Tokyo 2020, but this was his first P4 mixed gold.

“I’m happy and excited.” It was a great journey for me because I got a medal in every lesson. During the qualifying round, I thought I might not be able to push myself enough to make it to the final, but I did it and won the gold medal,” Chao said. This was his first gold medal in a mixed P4 event after winning silver in Rio 2016.

Davide Franceschetti of Italy won the bronze medal, which was his first Paralympic medal. Server Ibragimov of Uzbekistan won the silver medal. South Korean Jeongdu Jo won the P1 title in the men’s 10m air pistol SH1 earlier in the competition. He set a Paralympic record in the qualification, but he could only finish in fourth place.

Iran’s Sareh Javanmardi came in fifth place. She won the P2-women’s 10m air pistol SHI in Paris 2024 and was the winner in Rio 2016. The competition at the Chateauroux Shooting Centre keeps going. The last day of the R6 – mixed 50m rifle-prone SH1 event is set for today.
