Billy Napier knows why Texas A&M fans booed: 'Probably would have done the same'

Florida coach Billy Napier knows why fans booed Saturday's 33-20 home loss to Texas A&M.

Florida fell 1-2 and wasn't as close as the score indicated. Before Florida scored the final 13 points, the Aggies led 33-7 in the third quarter.

Napier was asked about the halftime and fourth-quarter boos after the game. TAM QB With Connor Weigman out with an upper-body injury, Marcel Reed started.

Aggies overwhelmed Gators with Reed throwing for two touchdowns and running for another. Reed passed 11-17 for 178 yards and ran 83. The Aggies ran 55 times for 310 yards. Florida offence totalled 301 yards.

The Gators fielded Graham Mertz and freshman DJ Lagway at QB after Mertz missed the Week 2 win against Samford with a concussion from the season opener against Miami.

They completed 18-of-29 for 249 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions. Bryce Anderson returned Mertz's interception 45 yards for a touchdown after Lagway threw two picks
