Camila Cabello's 2024 MTV VMA performance was explosive. The 27-year-old "He Knows" singer debuted "Godspeed" at the awards presentation live from New York's UBS Arena on Sept. 11.
After performing "June Gloom" from her C,XOXO album, Cabello arrived in a white dress with long brown hair and bangs, revealing the video was playing on a laptop.
Cabello sung the ballad alone in a clear booth with a camera as numerous balaclava-clad women surrounding her with bats and crow bars, preparing to destroy the walls. After smashing the laptop, she left the studio and joined the dancers to finish the song.
Chappell Roan, Katy Perry, Anitta, Karol G, Shawn Mendes, Eminem, Sabrina Carpenter, GloRilla, Rauw Alejandro, Halsey, Lenny Kravitz, Lisa, Megan Thee Stallion, and Benson Boone will perform at the VMAs with Cabello.
This year's video vanguard award goes to Katy Perry, who returns to MTV after seven years. The "Teenage Dream" singer will perform a combination of her finest hits to celebrate her career.
Cabello returns to the VMAs for a third time after releasing C,XOXO in June, while the rest of the performers are making their main stage debuts. She was nominated for best pop and trending video for "I Luv It" alongside Playboi Carti.
The four-time Grammy nominee released the Magic City Edition of her third LP on Sept. 6, with four new songs, including "Godspeed." “i wish you well, but far away from me,” Cabello captioned a song video on social media.
