Fournie won his first Paralympic race. "That's a good start. It has been very hard work."
Toni Piispanen of Finland won the silver in 38.55 seconds while Peter Genyn of Belgium took the bronze in 38.65 seconds.
Fournie was given a yellow card after the race for his "unsporting or improper conduct."
His score counted under protest but ultimately stood after review. At the World Para Athletics Championship in Kobe, Japan in May, Fournie took silver in the 100×m.
