The path to Paralympic gold for Best was long. He loved jogging and found he had a gift despite having right arm ulnar dysplasia. His devotion and hard effort have made him a rising U.S. Paralympics track and field star.

Best is known to dance before races, and his teammates call him ‘Baby Bro’ because to his quirky nature, twitchy speed, and little body.

“I’m everyone’s little bro,” Best remarked. “I'm the annoying younger brother. I'm always joking around, dancing when I shouldn't, and giving coach crap, but that's just me being silly and adding energy to practice every day.

Best improved all day. He set a personal best in the preliminary heat in 10.78 seconds.

Best stated, “I feel great,” following the race. "Stepping on the world scene and generating a ripple as I did my first year in Para was incredible. I wanted gold. Silver is the next best thing, and we'll win at home in LA.”
