After a concussion in the second half of Thursday's loss to the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was sidelined.
Tagovailoa stayed in the Hard Rock Stadium locker room after his leaving. Coach Mike McDaniel said Tagovailoa was "in good spirits." on the field and in the locker room.
McDaniel said, "My thought was concern," after Tagovailoa's injury. I was worried about my boyfriend. You wish to never be involved."
The Dolphins' franchise quarterback has been sidelined twice due to concussions, making the incident more worrisome. A concerned McDaniel didn't prioritize a timeline for his availability after Friday's tests.
"The furthest thing from my mind is what is the timeline," he remarked. "We must analyze and worry about my teammate like the rest of the team. We'll gather more info tomorrow and go from there.
On a 6-yard rush to the Buffalo 7-yard line with 4:24 left in the third quarter, Tagovailoa dipped his head and hit Bills safety Damar Hamlin in the right arm
Tagovailoa, 26, struggled to stand with an unsettling arm contortion. He was treated on the field, with McDaniel running onto it, and eventually walked to the locker room on his own.
On Thursday, backup Skylar Thompson replaced him. Tagovailoa finished with 145 yards, a touchdown, and three interceptions.
