The Duke women's basketball team starts the 2024-25 season fresh off some of the most impressive victories of the Kara Lawson era,
and now they've added one of the best freshman in the country to the mix.
On Friday, the Blue Devils shared a video on social media showing senior guard Vanessa de Jesus lofting an alley-oop off the backboard, which freshman Toby Fournier dunked.
Fourner, a 6-foot-2 Canadian, was the 10th-ranked prospect in the Class of 2024 according to espnW's HoopGurlz Recruiting Rankings.
She was one of two five-star recruits in the cycle, but teammate 6-foot forward Arianna Roberson will miss her rookie season due to a knee injury.
Lawson also kept Maryland's Riley Nelson, a former five-star prospect from the Class of 2023, off the transfer list while maintaining six of the team's top seven scorers from last season.
After defeating a top-10 NC State team at home late last season and then beating the 2-seed Ohio State Buckeyes in the NCAA Tournament to go to the Sweet 16, Duke's expectations appear to be rising.
