Presenting my go-to recipe for granola bars. Made using staples from the pantry,
granola bars are both tasty and simple to prepare. Not even baking is required!
Traditional oats add a chewier, more "rustic" texture. Oats that cook quickly blend more into the bars. To get the texture of quick-cooking oats,
Nut butter provides fiber, protein, and good fat in addition to helping to hold these bars together. It's possible to use pecan, almond, or peanut butter. Sunflower butter is a good substitute for nuts in this recipe.
Maple syrup or honey These natural sweeteners give the bars a delightfully sweet (but not overly sweet) taste and aid in binding the bars together.
Vanilla essence, salt, and cinnamon These give your bars more taste. Although you could theoretically leave out any or all of these, adding them makes the bars look prettier.
All the other ingredients taste better with salt, so if you have a sensitivity to salt, cut it in half.
Blend-In Selections for Baking
Nuts: Almonds, peanuts, walnuts, and pecans. • Seeds: Sunflower or pepita seeds, chia or flax seeds. • Chocolate: Chocolate chips, pulsed in food processor.
Coconut: Flakes or shredded coconut, unsweetened due to the already sweet bars.
This recipe for granola bars is really simple and tasty! These hearty granola bars are gluten-free, naturally sweetened, and the ideal nutritious snack.
