Elizabeth Debicki earned her first Emmy for The Crown. On Sunday, Sept. 15, the 33-year-old actress,
who played Princess Diana for the series' final two seasons, received outstanding supporting actress in a drama series at the 76th Emmy
Debicki's victory speech: "It's been an honor to play this magnificent human being. It was given. Many thanks."
Debicki, one of 18 nominations The Crown received this year, told PEOPLE that it was the perfect "cherry" to conclude the program.
How exciting that so many of us were nominated. She remarked that was the cherry on top of a beautiful thing. "The show's been running for a long time, and my cast and I have been kind of on this ride for nearly three years in a way,
in terms of prep and then shooting and press, and so it's just a lovely end to a long and beautiful — but sometimes really challenging — chapter as actors."
The Australian actress received her first Emmy nomination last year for playing the late monarch in season 5 of The Crown.
Four Morning Show stars—Greta Lee, Holland Taylor, Nicole Beharie, and Karen Pittman—won nominations this year. The Crown's Debicki and Lesley Manville received nominations, while Christine Baranski represented The Gilded Age.
