Jodie Grinham and Nathan MacQueen from the United Kingdom won gold in the compound mixed team event in Paris 2024, defeating Iran's Fatemeh Hemmati and Hadi Nori in the final.
"The little one was definitely better behaved today." I'm not going to lie," Jodie grinned as she rubbed her belly.
On Saturday, the 31-year-old won a medal in an individual competition that made international headlines.
"I did not want anyone to see me as a pregnant woman attending the Games. I want people to see, 'Wow, a pregnant lady can compete at the greatest level and win a medal,'" she explained.
"My 90-year-old grandmother, my son, and my wife were on the stand. "To be able to do it for them is simply amazing," MacQueen stated.
"But I knew that if we could shoot at our normal level in practice at home, loving it and having fun, we'd storm it today. And I'm really pleased to announce that we did."
In the final, they scored 155, one point short of the Paralympic record. Twelve out of sixteen of their arrows formed a ten-ring. The British were invincible on Monday at the Invalides.
"I am really happy. Sheetal said, "I came here for a medal, and when I stood on the podium, I thought I had won a medal in each event, so I had to win the Paralympic medal as well."
"I'm proud I could participate in the Games at such a young age. "The competition in Paris resumes on Tuesday with recurve women's elimination and medal rounds.
