Doughnut Ingredients: – 2 ¼ tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast – 1 ¼ cups warm milk (110°F/45°C) – ¼ cup granulated sugar – 2 large egg – 1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened – 4 cups all-purpose flour – ½ tsp salt – Vegetable oil (for frying
Mix one tablespoon of sugar and warm milk in a small bowl to dissolve the yeast. Give it a good five to ten minutes to get foamy.
Mix the eggs, softened butter, and remaining sugar in a large bowl. Blend until thoroughly blended.
Add the flour and salt gradually, stirring to combine and create a dough. It ought to be controllably sticky but not too so.
Once the dough is on a floured surface, knead it for five to seven minutes, or until it becomes elastic and smooth.
To cut out the doughnuts and holes, use a doughnut cutter or two circular cookie cutters (one large, one little).
Make sure to coat each doughnut evenly after dipping them into the glaze while they're still warm. Let any extra glaze fall off.
These doughnuts are best enjoyed fresh, but you can store them in an airtight container for a day or two.
