Olivia Dunne discussed her boyfriend Paul Skenes' reaction to her role in The Money Game as the LSU gymnast examines college sports' name, image, and likeness (NIL) strategy.
The September 10 Amazon Prime Video documentary shows Chicago Sky's Angel Reese and Las Vegas Raiders' Jayden Daniels as NCAA athletes have turned their popularity into riches since 2021.
Dunne and Reese signed contracts with Under Armour and Gatorade when rules changed to allow student-athletes to profit from their valuations.
Dunne, who has a NIL worth of $3.5 million, claimed that her partner Skenes, an MLB great pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates, warmly supports the 21-year-old.
"He was actually in Baton Rouge during the fall," Dunne told GMA. The docuseries features him.
Bronny James, son of LeBron James, has the most expensive NIL valuation in history at $5.1 million, followed by Mikey Williams ($2.6m) and Bryce Young ($1.8m), according to On3.
Due to her 5.3 million Instagram followers and 7.1 million TikTok admirers, Dunne is the most famous gymnast in NCAA Women's Gymnastics and college gymnastics.
However, until 2021 she could not profit from her talent and hard work, but with the amended rules and introduction of NIL, she is set for life even if she doesn't pursue gymnastics after her last year.
"The opportunities that have come with the rule change have changed my life," Dunne told GMA. "What a blessing.
