14.2 million viewers watched the NFL's inaugural game in Brazil between the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers, according to official ratings.
This season's NFL International Series debuted in Sao Paolo, Brazil. The Eagles beat the Packers 34-29 after debuting a black helmet and team logos.
The game, carried entirely on Peacock and a few local in-market broadcasts, earned 14.2 million viewers. The game was the second-most watched live event on Peacock, behind the AFC Wild Card game, where the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Miami Dolphins 26-7.
The viewership was 94% more than Peacock's previous exclusive NFL game on Dec. 23, 2023, when 7.3 million people watched the Buffalo Bills play the Los Angeles Chargers. That seems the NFL-NBC streaming experiment is working.
The peak viewing was 15.3 million from 9:30 to 9:45 p.m. ET. The second quarter, which featured three touchdowns and two field goals, was the most exciting of the night.
We are pleased to continue our momentum with the most famous assets and events in sports on NBC Sports and Peacock after the Paris Olympics and Paralympics.
