Aiyuk caught four of his five targets for 43 yards at U.S. Bank Stadium, up from two for 28 yards in Week 1. Purdy thinks they'll both improve on the field.

After the game, Purdy remarked, “I think he looks pretty good and stuff, but I'm not dropping back thinking B.A.'s not been like what he was like. I don't agree. For me, I read. He went where he needed to.”

Due to contract talks, Aiyuk "held in" throughout training camp this summer, limiting his on-field practice time with Purdy to two weeks. Purdy knows their possibilities will rise with more time together, but the quarterback thinks his receiver is working hard.

“There's probably a couple routes maybe in certain looks where we both could have been better on some stuff, but that's early in the season stuff if you ask me,” Purdy said. “I know our relationship will improve. B.A. seemed to grind and compete all four quarters. His accomplishment makes me proud.”

Aiyuk, like numerous players after the game, said US Bank Stadium was warm, unlike most domed stadiums. George Kittle left the field for an IV of fluids because the tight end was cramping in the heat.

“I felt better today, but it was hot,” Aiyuk said of his second week back on the field. “Super hot, but solid. It seems I snapped more this week. Probably 80–85%.
