Voters choose Taylor Swift's video of the year!
After beating Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Eminem, and SZA, the 34-year-old pop diva won the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards' Moon Person, video of the year, for “Fortnight” alongside Post Malone.
Swift congratulated the song video's crew, including her boyfriend Travis Kelce, at UBS Arena.
"Directing this video and putting it together and writing it was the most wonderful experience, and that is because of all the people that I got to make it with — and that includes Ethan Hawke and Josh Charles who were amazing cameos,
that includes my amazing cinematographer [and] Rodrigo Prieto, who goes out of his way to work with female directors," said. "He's a genius and I can't believe I got to work with him as well as Ethan Tobman, my amazing production designer, who I worked with on the Eras Tour."
Swift said, "We adore Post Malone. This video seems sad, but it was the most fun to make, and I'll always remember when I'd finish a take and say ‘cut’ and we'd be done with that take, I'd hear someone cheering from across the studio where we were shooting it, and that was my boyfriend, Travis."
"Everything this man touches turns to happiness and fun and magic," she said of the 34-year-old Chiefs tight end. "So, I want to thank him for adding that to our shoot because I’ll always remember that."
She then addressed the Swifties: "To the fans, I'm always trying to find a way to say 'thank you' for making my life, the Eras Tour, and The Tortured Poets Department what they are.
